When a charity is appealing for funds to help teach children – as does e-learning foundation – one might hope that it would set a good example of learning in its appeal letter. It is not impressive when the chief executive personally signs a letter which includes: “We also take a small percentage out of the project to This also helps pay for our core costs…….”
Giving to charity involves taking a lot on trust. When what one can see has a slap-dash element about it, can one be forgiven for thinking that other aspects of its work will be slap-dash?
The moral, fundraisers, it to read carefully the hard copy version, and make corrections, before running off thousands of letters which will be mailed out.
