I hope charities will not adopt the disgraceful ‘money saving’ approach of one commercial greetings card manufacturer. It blithely states: ‘We have been unable to ascertain the copyright holder of the above artist’s work but will be pleased to acknowledge credit for this on any future publication’.

I don’t know if, statistically, it helps a charity to ask for a specific amount – be it £5000, £1000, £14.22, or whatever. What I do know is that I dislike being asked for a figure far in excess of what I would contemplate for the type of charity involved. So, two cheers for DEStiny [...]
