The latest ploy to prise a donation from me started with the words: “We write to you once again to thank you for the invaluable help that your donation has provided”. Looks reasonable enough on the face of it. But I have never given to Strongbones Children’s Charitable Trust. And, if it stoops to that kind of tactic – or its record-keeping genuinely is so poor – probably I can find others with more ethical/efficient findraising departments.
Fundraising, as we all know, is becoming much more professional, and charities, however dedicated and well-meaning, need to be seen to be honest and accurate.
