Appreciation

I liked the closing lines from a letter seeking funds for the Myasthenia Gravis Association – which provides support and advice for all sufferers of Myasthenia Gravis (MG for short). This is a neurological disease which affcts the signal from the brain to the muscles.

The letter ended: “Even if we are unsuccessful, we thank you for the excellent work you do. We know that some charities which provide face-level support will be successful thanks to organisations such as yours. However, I do hope you will be able to support our endeavours”.

It is nice that charities recognise that they cannot win every time, but that, overall, good is being done. The problem with MG is that a person can appear fine one minute, and collapse on the floor the next – appearing to be drunk and incapable. It is known as the Rag Doll Illness – because nerve signals from the brain to the muscle are attacked.

Hi there! This is a good entry! I’m currently running a charity blog, and looking for (better) ways to raise fund.

This really helps me a lot…Thanks!
