I get the impression that quite a number of charities are feeling the pinch. All too often, there has been a long time-lag between sending a donation and receiving a thank-you – and the cheque being presented. It has sometimes raised the question of whether they really needed the funds so urgently – if they took so long to get their hands on them.
That, for many charities, seems to have changed. After sending out a batch of cheques a few days ago, the very polite thank-you letters have been coming thick and fast – including from those where one could wait for weeks in the past.
From a donor’s point of view, it is nice to know that the funds really are needed, and a quick thank-you letter is one of the best ways of being included on the list again next year.
