Is The Salvation Army living too much in the past? I have received a letter nicely thanking me at the outset for the support I have shown in the past. Yes – but the last donation was more than 12 years ago. The letter was sent to me at an address I left seven years ago, using a postcode which changed some years before that.
If, as I assume, the organisation is simply using names (and addresses) from which no funds have come for some time, my recommendation would be to check such names and addresses. People do not live in the same place for ever. Nor do they live for ever.
