I blogged recently about not being offended by being addressed as “Dear Friend”.  Should I be offended by being sent a Valentine Card by a charity?  Of course not, rather I congratulate whoever had the idea of exploiting this annual festival of love in the hope, and I am sure expectation, that in the hearts of a sufficient number of recipients of the mailing generosity and magnanimity will accompany love and sympathy.  I wish I had thought of the idea to use for my own charity.
