Mary Mary quite contrary

From moaning about those who bombard me with appeals, i am now thinking about those charities to which i made a donation and have heard nothing since. I appreciate my tenner (or if years ago maybe just a fiver) does not count as a kings ransom, but i do wonder that there are charities for which the odd unsolicited donation counts as nothing. How did they know i was not a potential cash cow, worth wooing for later larger donations?

Here they all are, the ones with the Naomi Cmapbell pretentions…

Adfam – March 1991
Asylum Rights Campaign – October 1991
Andrea Adams Trust -August 2004
Action for Amputees – October 1995
Burma Campaign – July 2005
BUAV – March 1993
Baby Milk Action – October 2001
Bees for Development – May 2008
CARE – April 1992
Hospital for Malnourished Children – May 1991
Medical Education Trust – February 1992
Medical Aid for Palestine – December 2006
Mouth & Foot Artists – June 2005
National Missing Persons Helpline – April 2008
Soil Association – May 2002
Tusk Force – March 1992
Womankind Worldwide – 2008
Women at Risk – December 2002

There were others i gave to and stopped after a short while so maybe i got fed up making all the running, or they simply slipped down the pecking order of my priorities.
